The Texas Deadlift Bar – Built to Pull
Every serious lifter knows the deadlift is a different animal to the squat and bench. It demands a different bar. The Texas Power Bar Deadlift Bar takes everything that's made the standard Texas Power Bar a training-floor staple and re-engineers it specifically for pulling, a thinner, whippier, higher-tensile shaft designed to help you get the bar moving off the floor and keep it moving to lockout.
Deadlift-Specific Engineering
Where the standard Power Bar is built for stiffness across squat, bench and deadlift, the Deadlift Bar is a specialist tool. Every spec has been adjusted with one lift in mind.
- Shaft diameter: 27mm — noticeably thinner than the standard bar's 28.5mm, giving smaller hands a more secure grip on a lift where grip is so often the limiting factor
- Tensile strength: 190,000 PSI — the same grade of steel as the standard Power Bar, but combined with a thinner, longer shaft to unlock significantly more whip and flex
- Bar length: 92.5" overall, longer than the standard bar's 86", with an 18" loadable sleeve length to accommodate a fuller range of plate loading for max pulls
- Increased whip: the extra length and reduced diameter work together to give the shaft noticeably more flex than a squat/bench power bar — that whip helps generate momentum off the floor, smoothing out the initial pull
- Aggressive knurling, no centre knurl: knurling is deeper and more hostile than on the standard bar, because grip security matters more here than comfort — and, with no squat to worry about, the centre knurl is omitted for a scrape-free shin and thigh on every rep
- Sleeve diameter: 50mm, fitting all standard Olympic plates, with a finish designed to withstand the drops and resets that come with heavy pulling sessions
- Single knurl mark: knurled to a consistent, repeatable position, so your grip width stays honest from warm-up to max attempt

In short: if you only ever buy one bar, the standard Power Bar Original is the do-it-all choice. But if deadlift day is where you live, or you're chasing a specific pulling number, the Deadlift Bar's thinner shaft and added whip make a genuine, feelable difference to how the bar comes off the floor.
Why Lifters Rate It
A thinner bar simply sits better in the hand, and for lifters with grip as their sticking point, that 2mm difference in diameter is far more significant than it sounds. Combine that with the extra whip, which lets the bar "catch up" to the plates as they leave the floor, and you get a pull that feels noticeably smoother than on a stiffer squat/bench bar. The deeper knurl means you're not fighting the bar for grip while you're busy fighting gravity.
